A project was designed to investigate more on the welfare of cattle, pigs and poultry kept in the Peri-urban areas, during transport and in the market places and come up with mitigation measures where relevant. It was an extension of the pilot project that was on fact finding in disease, welfare and management of animals in periurban farming.
